SAN FRANCISCO, Ca.– Intrax Inc has acquired Center for International Career Development (CICD), a fellow U.S. Department of State designated J-1 Visa Sponsor. The merger serves not only to further improve Intrax’s capacity to serve the Work Travel, Intern, and Trainee communities, but importantly also brings the J-1 Teacher and 12-month Australia/New Zealand Work & Travel Programs to Intrax’ s list of designations.
This merger of two great organizations comes just 9 months after Intrax announced its acquisition of U.K.-based Invasion Camp Group and a little more than one year after Intrax launched CampCare USA.
“While the COVID-19 pandemic nearly halted international exchange programs worldwide, the world is preparing to travel again. We believe in the work we do and we’re positioning Intrax to be stronger and more effective in creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow and lead the future,” said newly appointed CEO at Intrax, Dennis Wong.
“Our brands have changed the lives of so many. Exchange programs connect people and cultures, with an aim to foster mutual understanding and promote world peace. At a time like this, we strongly believe our programs are more important now than ever before. We are fortunate to be in a position to further strengthen our commitment to cultural exchange and to broaden Intrax program offerings through this acquisition,” said Intrax President Marcie Schneider.
After two very challenging years for J-1 visa sponsors as the COVID-19 pandemic severely limited visa adjudication and travel, Intrax is optimistic for 2022 and the future. “As we begin to see fruitful advocacy efforts towards COVID-19 policy changes regarding visas and air travel, combined with very high interest in our programs, we’re preparing for a strong next chapter of recovery and growth,” continued Marcie.
CICD will formally become Intrax Inc effective March 11, 2022.
On joining Intrax, Jeff Laband, CEO of CICD stated: “Our international participants, partners and communities worldwide will recognize immediate benefits from the merger of the talent, cultural and intellectual resources that these two great organizations provide together. After more than two decades as CICD, we now look forward to the coming decades and beyond of making the world a better place by offering excellent and innovative cultural exchange programming as Intrax!”
